About Us

Our Company

Acquiring the business in 1999, Lisa and Michael Plociniak began to transform it into the floral & event design business that it is today, first by specializing in weddings, then expanding into a variety of social and corporate events. Today, we are based in a state-of-the-art facility in Morris County New Jersey and a secondary location in Somerset New Jersey. We import only the highest quality flowers and botanicals to be crafted by the hands of masterful designers into an impressive variety of interpretive designs.  The design vision at A Touch of Elegance extends far beyond the use of flowers and botanicals. Our expanded services allow us to design events that extend through entire venues. Clients’ needs are frequently met by customized design and fabrication of décor elements such as chuppas, arches, ornamental trees, decorative columns, crystal and hanging candle backdrops, and more.

To provide professional delivery, we maintain a fleet of vehicles and use specialized tools to secure and protect flowers and equipment. Our accumulated experience has proven invaluable towards mastering many aspects of the science, art, and business involved in event design.  We have over 130 years of combined professional experience, just considering our seven designers among our overall staff.  Our design staff is represented by membership in the American Institute of Floral Design (AIFD), which is the leading international non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of floral design.  Our company is recommended by numerous venues, event planners, vendors, and by word-of-mouth from those attending the hundreds of events we produce every year.

Just a few venues we are honored to be reccomened at include The Palace at Somerset Park, The Stone House, Liberty House, The Meadow Wood Manor, The Midtown Loft & Terrace, Frungillos Caterers, Rock Island Lake Club just to name a few.  We are also highly recommended by Jenny Orsini Events, My Bellissima Events, and as a Platinum Vendor in Grace Ormonde’s Wedding Style Magazine.  Our work regularly appears in noteworthy magazines and highly acclamed wedding blogs and most recently our work has been featured on the Today Show with Kathy Lee and Hoda.   We have been fortunate enough to have been merited many professional awards and accolades. We strive to be innovators and provide cutting edge designs and resolve to maintain the highest standards in quality and service.  You can see our passion in our work, and our self-made business success shows a huge commitment to our craft.

Lisa Plociniak

( CFO/Creative Director)

Lisa (Lendino) Plociniak is a native of New York City and has extensive experience in catering and restaurant management, as well as various degrees in business and floral design.  Extensive customer service experience has gifted her with the ability to establish an easy rapport with people.   She has an uncanny ability to identify her clients’ desires and communicate her vision for design concepts.  Above all, Lisa possesses an overwhelming passion for the design process as an expression of her boundless creativity.
A complimentary consultation with Lisa affords you the very best in floral and event design services.  As Creative Director for A Touch of Elegance, Lisa has sharpened her design skills by creating customized décor packages for thousands of special events.  Most importantly, Lisa is exceptionally skilled at using the clients’ information to quickly envision thrilling design themes.  The key elements and overall feel of expensive designs can be translated into realistic budgets.
Lisa’s modern design style features ornamentation and layering, with a special emphasis placed on innovative use of color.  Just about anything can trigger inspiration, a flower color, textured table linen, or style of furniture, but unity is a driving design principle.  With a vast array of resources and contacts, Lisa can confidently propose an infinite number of designs.  For example, she will go into the wholesale fabric district in Manhattan to hand-select entire bolts of fabric to have specialized table runners sewn for warrented clients.  Lisa prides herself on a quick turn around for providing moden floral and design proposals.  Proposals remain flexible to allow for alterations until two weeks before the event, when final payment is due in order to order perishable products.
A few weeks prior to an event, clients are invited to our mezzanine showroom for a complimentary centerpiece viewing.  The setting for sample viewings is similar to an actual event, with the centerpiece displayed on a full-sized table with the linen of your choice.  The table is completely set with chairs in place.  With a backdrop of drapery and pin spot lighting illuminating the flowers, clients can truly appreciate what their designs will look like during their event.  If adjustments are requested, Lisa has fresh flowers close at hand from her production area.  Similarly, different styles of candles, table runners, vases, chargers, etc., can be considered as additional décor – within the context of the complete design.
Lisa’s extensive knowledge, creative energy and polished approachability make her an ideal choice as designer for your next special event!

Michael Plociniak

( COO and Creative Textile Director )

Michael Plociniak was raised in the Great Lakes region of Pennsylvania.  A dedicated student, he earned multiple degrees in Biology and worked as a college professor and neuroscientist before radically changing his career path.  Several aspects of his scientific training proved useful in the artistic realm, such as an appreciation of geometrical dimensionality, a keen eye for pattern and detail, and a knowledge of the natural appearance of plants.  The organic order of nature and an unexpected manipulation of materials are two major sources of inspiration for Michael.

Quickly becoming an avid student of the principles and elements of floral design, he also excelled in devising effective mechanics for customized chuppas, armatures, chandeliers, centerpieces, and many other décor elements.  His most recent pursuit of novel techniques involved taking welding classes at Brooklyn’s 3rd Ward.  Michael is always searching for new ways to manipulate materials - wood, glass, plastic, metal, stone.
